Planning and zoning: annual report: rehabilitated units.Ch. 704, Stats. 2025 · chaptered 2025-10-13 · Later amended

Key provisions · Claude summary of the digest, not bill text

Allowed local housing element annual reports to count certain substantially rehabilitated deed-restricted affordable units, without letting them affect streamlining eligibility.

  • Rehabilitated units. Permitted a local agency to report existing deed-restricted affordable units at least 15 years old that were substantially rehabilitated with at least $60,000 per unit in city or county funds, as specified.
  • Streamlining excluded. Prohibited the reported units from being considered when determining affordability requirements for eligibility for streamlined approvals.
  • Technical update. Updated the reference to the Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation (formerly the Office of Planning and Research) and coordinated changes to Section 65400 with AB 670.

Paraphrased from the Legislative Counsel’s Digest. Check the bill text before relying on it.
